About Ex Caserma Liberata

Ex Caserma Liberata is a social centre founded in 2014 in the former Caserma Rossani barracks in Bari, at Via Giulio Petroni 8 in the Carrassi district, now linked to the city council by a memorandum recognising its cultural and social role. A space returned to the city after years of abandonment, it has become a reference point for self-produced live music and grassroots community life in the Puglia capital. Its music programme is broad and combative: DIY gigs, hardcore and punk series, ska, reggae and rap nights, with emerging local bands, acts from the Italian DIY circuit and touring international groups. One of its most awaited events is Bari in Dub, a festival devoted to sound system and dub culture. Alongside live shows there is open-air cinema with CineCaserma, food solidarity initiatives and workshops. A cultural stronghold where music is a tool for participation and urban regeneration.
