About Balena Festival

Balena Festival is the summer festival that brings to life the Arena del Mare in Genoa's Porto Antico, reaching its seventh edition in 2026. Its name and visual identity are inspired by the whale, with the idea of welcoming artists and fans into the belly of the great animal, overlooking the sea and the harbour cranes. Its lineup is devoted to Italian independent and alternative music: rock, indie, songwriters, punk, electronica and rap share the stage, with established national acts such as The Zen Circus, I Cani and Caparezza alongside emerging bands such as Balto and the best projects from Liguria. The atmosphere is that of a human-scale festival, with sunset concerts, a food area and a young, passionate crowd. Within a few years Balena has become one of the key events of Genoa's musical summer.
