About Cox 18

CSOA Cox 18 is the historic social centre at Via Conchetta 18, in the Ticinese district close to the Navigli, occupied and self-managed since 1976 and one of the oldest in Italy. The same building houses Libreria Calusca, an archive of counterculture and social movements, testifying to a history spanning almost fifty years. Music is a core part of its identity: punk, hardcore, crust, oi, ska, reggae, noise and experimental music, with bands from the Italian and international DIY circuit, benefit gigs and donation-based nights. Cox 18 has always been a reference point for self-production too, with independent labels, fanzines and distros finding a home here. Intimate rooms, low prices and an engaged crowd make for direct, raw concerts. A symbol of rebel Milan, where live music has been a practice of freedom for decades.
