Cascina Torchiera — Venue & Club | Milan, Italy
📍 Italy 📍 MilanAbout Cascina Torchiera
Cascina Torchiera is an old farmhouse occupied and self-managed since 1992, at Piazzale Cimitero Maggiore 18, on Milan's north-west outskirts. A traditional Lombard cascina rescued from abandonment, for over thirty years it has been one of the symbols of Milanese counterculture and a landmark of the Italian punk and DIY scene. Its music programme is true to the spirit of self-management: punk, hardcore, crust, grind, ska, folk punk, reggae and experimental music, with bands from the Italian and international DIY circuit and emerging groups who find a free stage here. Benefit gigs, festivals, donation-based nights and events such as the Anticlerical Christmas fill the farmyard and rooms with a grassroots, participatory spirit. The collective also works on making the space accessible. Torchiera is a place where live music expresses freedom, community and cultural resistance.
